Does It Actually Stay More Invisible?
Zip-front sports bras are a popular choice for many people. Yet most of them share the same issue: a zipper pull that protrudes at the center of the chest.
You may have heard of a reverse zipper and wondered: can simply changing the zipper direction really make it less visible?
The answer is yes. Because it hides the zipper pull that would otherwise protrude at the center of the chest.
What Is a Reverse Zipper?
A reverse zipper is a design where the zipper zips from top to bottom.
Unlike a traditional zipper, the zipper pull rests at the bottom rather than at the center of the chest.
By positioning the zipper pull at the bottom, the design keeps it out of sight.
It may seem like a small difference, but on close-fitting garments, it has a direct impact on how smooth and flat the garment looks.

Will a Reverse Zipper Feel Uncomfortable?
The comfort of a zip-front bra depends largely on how well the zipper is separated from the skin.
Without a protective inner layer, the zipper can come into direct contact with the skin, creating friction and discomfort—especially when sitting or bending.
A well-designed zip-front bra includes a complete protective inner layer between the zipper and the skin. Even when the zipper pull rests at the bottom, it remains comfortable to wear.
Why Did We Create a Reverse Zipper?
During the development of the FIT BRA cup-free sports bra, we found that on many traditional zip-front bras, the zipper pull remains at the center of the chest—making it much more noticeable.
After extensive testing, we developed a reverse zipper design. Combined with structural refinements and a protective inner layer, it allows the zipper pull to naturally rest in the least noticeable position.
This isn’t a standard industry approach. It’s a design solution developed by Minus A around one core goal: long-lasting comfort and a lower visual presence.
